“One Love Taipei” Follow the Indigenous Peoples to Eat, Drink, and Have Fun Indigenous Culture and Characteristic Historic Buildings: The Creative Combination of the Holiday Markets

“One Love Taipei” is the indigenous holiday market hosted by Indigenous Peoples Commission, Taiwan City Government. The opening ceremony was held at National Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall on May 25 this year (2019). From June to October, the indigenous holiday market will be open every Saturday for five months. The final presentation will be given at Songshan Cultural and Creative Park on November 2.
“One Love Taipei” includes more than ten stalls with their own characteristics, selling cultural and creative handmade accessories, indigenous traditional delicacies, and agricultural products. It is hoped that the holiday market will be a chance for the potential young people with the unique creative styles and innovative spirits to promote their own brands.
The stalls will be arranged based on the districts of Taipei City. The holiday market will be held in different districts every month. This shift will expand the influence of the indigenous holiday market as more citizens and tourists in Taipei City will be able to join in the activity. The market showing the traditional life and culture of the indigenous peoples will leave a deep impression on every visitor in the most natural way!
“One Love Taipei” will be open at U-mkt! U-mkt is an old building of more than eighty years old built in the Japanese-rule period. After the restoration and revitalization of the historic building, it has become the most trendy and most “hipster” market. The indigenous market will be held here from 1:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. every Saturday in July, combining the indigenous culture and the characteristic architectural culture to create the trendy topic. Want to taste the traditional indigenous delicacies, fresh vegetables and fruit from the mountains and enjoy the indigenous handicrafts? Don’t miss the chance! The market has the different topics every week: “Tsunami, Black: Indigenous Coffee Day,” “Tsunami, Blue: Cultural Festival Day,” “Tsunami, Red: Parent-Child Cultural and Creative Day,” and “Tsunami, Yellow: Delicacy Feast Day.” Come to eat, play, watch, and have fun! You’ll never be bored! Welcome to experience the market and have fun in summer vacation!
